The White Pine Celtic Arts Council is hosting the fifth annual Midland Highland Festival on Saturday, June 11 from 9 am–5 pm in Chippewassee Park near the Tridge in Downtown Midland. Events are free and open to the public!

Events include:

• 9 am: Highland Athletic Games (Caber Toss, Stone Throw and more)
• 12 noon: Opening Ceremony with massed bagpipe bands
• 12:30-3:30 pm: Celtic Dancing, Celtic Folkbands, Sheep Herding Demonstrations, Scottish Bagpipe Band Performances, Children’s activities, Celtic vendors, Clan tents, plus Athletic games continue
• 4:30 pm: Closing Ceremony

That’s more or less verbatim from the press release. Let me add that bands playing are Equinox and Finnegan (does anyone know anything about this group?), and a number of the Midland / Bay City Celtic session musicians are planning on showing up with instruments as well. Please come out and join us!
