Vincent Broderick (1920-2008) was a flute player from Galway who wrote dozens of well-liked tunes. There are two printed collections of his tunes, Traditional Irish Flute Solos – Volume 1: The Turoe Stone Collection and Traditional Irish Flute Solos – Volume 2: The Turoe Stone Collection. I got the idea of putting these three jigs together from MacDara Ó Raghallaigh, who made them a set on his excellent album Ego Trip. However, instead of going with his wildman fiddle versions, I’m presenting basic versions based on Broderick’s playing of them.
